Neck Pain

The neck is very mobile and is easily damaged. Injuries and postural imbalances are the most common causes of neck pain.

Most neck injuries are a result of sport, motor vehicles accident or occupational accidents. Injuries may consist of damage to vertebrae, joint, nerves, discs, ligament or muscles.

Incorrect posture can cause muscles to become tired, ligaments overstretched and place joints and nerves under more than normal pressure. This can cause aching, pain and headaches.

Your physiotherapist can determine the source of your neck pain, provide you with treatment to relieve pain and correct any imbalances, and give you advice on how to control and prevent neck pain. Advice on exercise, stretching, sleeping, posture and relaxation will give you the tools to improve and maintain a strong, pain free neck.
